Café ethos
Here at the Green Housekeeper Café we respect ourselves, each other, and you – our customers.
We strive to offer simple affordable food using local suppliers and seasonal ingredients.
We passionately believe in fairness, staff here are friendly and professional, they are local people and are employed all year round. Paid well above minimum wage and enjoying additional paid holidays we are like a work family and have been for many years now.
We are aware of our responsibility toward the wider environment. All of our electricity is from 100% renewable sources. Packaging we use is recyclable or compostable and nothing whatsoever has gone from our café to landfill in over a decade. We recycle everything we possibly can. Whilst it is a lot more expensive to do this we know this is a price worth paying.
Our prices are comparatively low given that we choose only the best quality ingredients, this is possible as we have worked to gain a good reputation with many repeat customers (thank you) enabling us to stay open and busy all year around*
*We are closed 25th December each year.
